These are HEAVY duty, and I love them for it.The build quality is outstanding. These slides are as smooth and silent as any full extension slides half their size. They’re pretty similar to traditional full extension slides in their design, with a few key differences you’ll need to keep in mind.The first is the size. These slides are bigger than what you’re probably used to, but that should be obvious. I believe the dimensions are in the page. Still, it can be easy to overlook this if you’ve only ever used full extension ball bearing slides. Make sure to leave enough room in your design for the added size of these big boys.Second, the mounting holes are few and far between. This isn’t uncommon for heavy duty slides, but it surprises me every time. There exist only a handful of pre-drilled holes on the back for mounting. This is fine if you’re installing onto a metal frame, but if you’re installing these into wood you’ll want all the support you can get. Thankfully, it’s fairly easy to drill additional holes.Third, the weight. This may seem obvious, but like the dimensions it’s easy to overlook how much added weight these bring to your design. You’ll need to incorporate this additional weight and ensure whatever you’re building can handle it.Other than that, these are as good as any other heavy duty slides I’ve used in the past. There’s a locking mechanism on the front which automatically activates when the drawer shuts, requiring you to pull the trigger to open. This prevents the weight of the drawer’s contents from forcing the drawer open unintentionally, and is a good safety feature. There are a decent amount of bearings, making the action silent and smooth. The self-closing feature works great, even though the added mass and larger pieces mean the usual design had to be adjusted slightly. The steel is plenty thick and durable enough to withstand any forces you can put upon it.Overall, I really like these heavy duty slides. I’m using them in a mobile workbench I’m building. The price is a little high in my opinion, but it’s no higher than competitor brands, and at least with this product in particular, you get what you pay for; and that’s quality craftsmanship. I highly recommend them.
